Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Digital Health focuses on supporting clinical and business systems as the foundation for leveraging electronic data in the delivery of health-care services. Business Services within Digital Health provides effective business processes, systems and technologies to the health system including enterprise resource planning (ERP) and additional diverse tools supporting accounting/finance, human resources, supply chain, communication, productivity and collaboration. Business services includes our provincial service desk, account management, and service support function including incident, problem, configuration, change and release management practices (ITIL).

 

We have opportunities for senior ERP business consultants who will design, implement, expand and support the ongoing efficiency and optimization of an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Successful candidates will influence and engage provincial business and clinical stakeholders across organizations to embrace, adopt and optimize an integrated system and related business processes applications and tools for Shared Health and six provincial service delivery organizations (SDOs). Each senior business consultant will take a primary role in a crucial area of business management: accounting/finance, human resources, and supply chain. Our current priority is to identify a subject matter expert with extensive process management experience in supply chain.

 

Reporting to an executive director and focused on their primary role, the senior ERP business consultant will enable the optimization and broad adoption of integrated ERP systems and processes across the provincial health-care system. This includes identifying, developing and implementing system enhancement and business process improvements across the health-care sector in Manitoba. As an advisor to health-care system leaders, the senior ERP business consultant will support, influence, bridge functional with service delivery priorities, and lead activities related to identifying, prioritizing, planning and implementing ERP initiatives for business and clinical programs. This position will establish the business case and benefits realization framework for prioritized projects, seek opportunities to improve safety and efficiency and reduce administrative burden on health-care managers to enable their focus on health services delivery. The successful candidate’s leadership, professionalism, diplomacy, and continuous improvement orientation will be evident as they collaborate to provide excellent customer service and support an integrated province-wide health-care system that provides multiculturally respectful health services delivery.

Experience
  • 10 years of experience in a senior business advisory role in information and communications technology supporting large ERP solution implementations, (experience with SAP preferred), optimizations and expansions preferably in a large, unionized, public sector environment, including:
    • influencing and collaborating with diverse, large, multi-cultural, cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams including executive-level management, and partner service delivery organizations on integration initiatives, including developing, evaluating and implementing comprehensive business cases and analyzing data supported performance outcomes
    • working with established solution fulfillment and support processes within a formal enterprise architecture
    • planning and deploying reporting solutions within a large ERP business organization
  • 5 years of management experience directing people and processes in the primary assigned business management area (such as accounting/finance, human resources including implementing collective bargaining agreement language in payroll, or supply chain including purchasing, inventory management, warehouse management, contracting and strategic sourcing)
  • Public health-care system experience across clinical and non-clinical programs and familiarity with the alignment of multi-organizational policy and delivery are assets
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Post-secondary degree in business, engineering or a technology related program from an accredited educational institution combined with a graduate degree in business or public administration or an equivalent professional designation appropriate to the assigned business management area ( such as accounting/finance, human resources, supply chain); an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered
  • Advanced training in business analysis and business case development including business and financial analysis is required
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province
  • Active member of an associated regulatory body as appropriate
  • Certifications in business analysis, quality assurance analysis, process analysis/improvement, organizational change management, and project management, or vendor certifications are considered assets

  • Demonstrated shared leadership capabilities appropriate to the senior management level, influencing people to work together to achieve a common constructive purpose. Shared Health has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work safely in a typical open office environment, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 25 pounds
