Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Digital Health focuses on supporting clinical and business systems as the foundation for leveraging electronic data in the delivery of health-care services.

 

We have an opportunity for a manager solution group who will supervise a diverse interdisciplinary team with a culture of client service which provides support for assigned software applications in the health-care sector. Reporting to a director, the manager solution group will collaborate, consult, facilitate communication and act as a liaison with leaders of different partner organizations to coordinate work efforts. The successful candidate will lead a team supporting diverse software application users to maximize the benefits of the information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provided. Depending on the specific work assignment, the manager solution group may lead the expansion and sustainment of provincial digital health services, collaborate with stakeholders from government and external agencies to develop, implement and refine solutions that enable the business objectives of the health-care system, support and optimize solutions from a technical perspective to ensure optimized performance and minimize downtime. The successful candidate will ensure the provision of effective and responsive support and recommend effective service enhancements and expansions. The successful candidates leadership, professionalism, diplomacy, and continuous improvement orientation will be evident as they collaborate with clients and colleagues to provide excellent customer service, identify system solutions, and support an integrated province-wide health-care system that provides multiculturally respectful health services delivery.

 

Experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in healthcare and information technology, including specific experience in quality improvement planning and execution
  • 3 or more years of experience in management, with specific experience leading teams of clinical and technical resources a 24/6 on-call support
  • 3 or more years of experience providing application support/application usage support to diverse client group(s) on various application platforms (e.g. specialization may be needed in Public Health, Diagnostic Imaging and RIS/PACS, Acute Care and EPR, Primary Care or a variety of other client group(s) and application platforms)
  • An equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience may be considered.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant program related to computer science, technology, health sciences, nursing or health informatics from an accredited educational institution in combination with qualifying experience
  • Graduate degree in technology, health, health informatics or a related discipline is an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Active member of an associated regulatory body as appropriate
  • A valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province
  • Additional relevant certifications such as ITIL, CMMI, Lean, Prosci or PRINCE2 are assets

Physical Requirements
  • Must be available for regular travel within the province, able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment, and able to lift and move items of up to approximately 25 pounds
