Position Overview

Support the service delivery organizations (SDO’s) senior management and site(s) in strengthening integrated care coordination, and promoting and providing seamless, consistent, coordinated, standardized delivery of education services to support clinical care and patient-centered care.


Provide oversight in standards, and resourcing in the delivery of education services and promote excellence as a clinical leader who supports and develops standard methodology and evidence-based outcomes across the region.


Collaborate with Clinical leadership, internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, effective and appropriate education through a clinical quality and patient safety lens that will shape an environment for clinical education and service excellence.


Main Functions:

  • Plan, coordinate, and provide delivery of clinical and staff education across the region.
  • Develop education needs assessment to establish a plan for overall education at sites and sectors
  • Manage and provide leadership and support to Educators and CNS teams with a culture of client service and deploys them effectively to sites and sectors to meet the education needs of staff
  • Support education delivery and work with change management leads in the role out and the alignment of initiatives within the provincial Clinical and Preventative Services Plan (CPSP).
  • Support service providers and sites and their teams to achieve education targets by mentoring and training resources to ensure proficiency and consistency in care standards, education methods, and change as required.


5 years of progressive management experience, preferably in a health-care setting including:

  • 3 years of experience building and managing interdisciplinary teams, preferably across a range of health-care settings
  • 3 years experience in teaching/adult education and program development for staff and management
  • 3 years experience in the design, development and delivery, administration and evaluation of education programs preferably in health care field
  • 2 years’ experience writing policies, procedures and analysis of data metrics to drive performance
  • 2 years of experience with influencing and communicating with internal and external stakeholders and managing organization change

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline (such as health or public administration) from an accredited academic institution


An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered


  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated senior leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
  • Proficient in utilization and integration of flow improvement tools (Oculys, Medworxx, EDIS, ADT) is an asset
  • Experience in change management strategies an asset

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
  • Interruptions to respond to questions are common; incumbent can schedule dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration
  • Travel to throughout service area requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle
  • May be required to work extended hours
  • May involve exposure to disease, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, etc.
  • May encounter aggressive and/or agitated individuals


This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
