Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The Supply Chain Management Shared Service (SCMSS) is a new organization that supports health services delivery across Manitoba by contracting, procuring, and distributing supplies, equipment, and services to service delivery organizations (SDOs) across the health sector.

The SCMSS leads the category management health and population cluster for the Government of Manitoba and is responsible for establishing contracts for in-scope items that can be used by stakeholders across public sector partners.

The Clinical Implementation Specialist will play a key role in the SCMSS within Shared Health and provide on-going support to drive innovation, mitigate supply risk, and improve supplier performance.

Clinical Implementation Specialists:

  • Work as part of the SCMSS team with Clinical Stakeholders/vendors to understand new products and services identified and selected through strategic sourcing activities and enable the implementation of new products and services in each of the SDOs.
  • Educate and support clinical and non-clinical clients across the health system in the adoption, effective implementation of, and compliance with the use of effective new standardized clinical products and services, with the ultimate goal of ensuring on contract spend to effectively realize the potential benefits.
  • Provide and liaise with clients to ensure feedback from the customer is effectively communicated to the SCMSS team and/or vendors to enhance the ongoing value of selected products and services.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in training and promoting the clinical stakeholder adoption of medical and health products, services, and equipment.
  • 3 years of experience influencing senior clinicians, health service management, administrators, project resources, and key stakeholders to advance innovative and creative product and services use to enhance patient care and ongoing cost sustainment.
  • 2 years of experience working with supply chain modules of enterprise resources planning systems (e.g. SAP).

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary degree in health or social sciences, with a clinical specialty in nursing or allied health from an accredited post-secondary education institution.
  • Additional specialized training in supply chain management and customer relations is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Active member in good standing with an associated regulatory body as appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities at the staff level. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings at multiple sites throughout the organization, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
  • Interruptions to respond to questions are common; dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled.
  • Travel throughout the province on a regular basis requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle.
