Position Overview

This position will enable health-care system alignment by leading the coordinated planning and integration of patient-centered health services to ensure consistent high-quality patient care as defined by Manitoba’s Clinical and Preventive Services Plan. Change Leads will influence health service providers within the Service Delivery Organization (SDO) to implement care pathways that effectively serve Manitoba’s population.

 

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Experience

  • 7 hears of progressive experience involving health services leadership.
  • 7 years of experience providing health services to urban, rural and/or remote populations across one or more areas of clinical health care.
  • 3 years of experience leading and coordinating systemic improvements with health services.
  • 3 years of experience in change management and project management.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post secondary degree in a field such as Health Sciences or Health Administration from an accredited education institute.
  • A postgraduate degree is an asset.
  • Certificate in quality management and/or patient safety from an accredited institution or equivalent is an asset.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated comprehensive senior leadership capabilities.
  • Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
  • Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
  • Good work and attendance record.

Physical Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.
