COVID Immunization Clinic Manager

Union: Based on classification of incumbent

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP 

FTE: Casual, term 1.0 EFT and term 0.5 EFT

Term End Date:  March 31, 2022 with possibility of extension 

Anticipated Shift: Days, Evenings, Weekends 

Salary: Based on classification of incumbent

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of our departments across the province will require additional staffing to support our fight against COVID-19; while continuing to provide the best possible health care services to Manitobans.

 

Manitoba recognizes the hard work and dedication of our front-line heath care providers and we are looking for additional experienced health care providers to offer support during these unprecedented and challenging times, to help provincial efforts to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.

Position Overview

 

• Responsible for the overall operations of the immunization clinic in collaboration with the Immunization Clinical Leader responsible for the clinical services
• Oversees all aspects of clinic planning, implementation/operation and shut down with support from Vaccine Immunization Task Force
• Ensures staffing schedules for all roles are planned and managed according to schedules for each day
• Ensures supplies of vaccines, and immunization clinic supplies and equipment are on hand for each given day and coordinates to receive shipments as required by vaccination schedule
• Ensures the flow of clients is safe and efficient throughout the day
• Ensures all safety precautions are taken for cleaning both client and staff areas
• Ensure all security arrangements are in place for the vaccine storage and for the clinic
• Ensures appropriate training materials are available for staff members
• Working with the staff in charge of logistics and/or specialized support function, ensures appropriate supplies, including vaccines, for each clinic
• Ensures that policies are in place to maintain infection control
• Coordinates communication with staff
• Handles issues such as occurrences
• Trouble-shoots problems/concerns that arise, including complaints

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

 

• Recognized post-secondary degree, in business administration, social sciences or health services or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Qualifications and Skills:

 

• Extensive experience in a management/leadership role in services sector
• Experience in health care sector an asset
• Prior experience managing immunization clinics an asset but not required for this role
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize a large complex workload to meet deadlines
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)

 

The Collective Agreement this position is covered under, is identified by the Union noted above.  As a result of The Health Sector Bargaining Unit Review Act, the bargaining agent for this position may differ from the Union identified.  In the event you have any questions, please contact your site Human Resources Department.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
