In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of our departments across the province will require additional staffing to support our fight against COVID-19; while continuing to provide the best possible health care services to Manitobans.


Manitoba recognizes the hard work and dedication of our front-line heath care providers and we are looking for additional experienced health care providers to offer support during these unprecedented and challenging times, to help provincial efforts to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.


Positions are available across the province at sites and locations operated/funded by Manitoba health regions and service providers. Employees will be hired by Shared Health. Accepting a position with the COVID-19 Casual Pool will NOT impact your existing employment.

Position Overview


The Alternative Isolation Accommodation Site Manager is responsible for the administrative functions of the Alternative Isolation Accommodation (AIA) setting.

• Ensures the delivery of client care services is consistent with the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Shared Health.
• Fosters/facilitates interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships within Shared Health as a whole and with other health care and social services to ensure a high standard of client care.

Reporting to the AIA Provincial Manager, the AIA Site Manager:

• Assumes responsibility for the operational management and coordination of client care within the resources available.
• Facilitates the use of critical thinking to ensure high quality client care.
• Establishes an open communication network.
• Participates in the selection and evaluation of human resources.
• Promotes the advancement of health social service care knowledge.
• Participates in risk management activities.
• Discharges all assigned duties and responsibilities within established policies and approved budgets.
• Works in close collaboration with the SH Integration Leads, Program Directors, Managers, and health care and social services teams to facilitate quality client care. Including Accommodation  teams.
• Acts as a liaison among clients/families and physicians.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

•Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the appropriate professional association required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experienced in a management/leadership role.
• Experience in the health care sector preferred.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication abilities.
• Demonstrated participatory management style which fosters an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment that supports quality patient care.
• Self-directed and demonstrates creative problem-solving in both client and administrative matters.
• Possesses a commitment to self-development.
• Conversant with professional issues and practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and work with a diversity of internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop sound practical solutions, identify impact and ramifications of decisions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities amongst competing demands.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize a large complex workload to meet deadlines.


The Collective Agreement this position is covered under, is identified by the Union noted above.  As a result of The Health Sector Bargaining Unit Review Act, the bargaining agent for this position may differ from the Union identified.  In the event you have any questions, please contact your site Human Resources Department.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
