Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

The Provincial Human Resources Shared Services Centre (PHRSSC) within Shared Health provides client services and human resources information transactional processing and maintenance services for employees represented by seven unions each with multiple collective bargaining agreements in the multi-enterprise network of publicly funded health system service delivery organizations and providers in Manitoba. Currently there are 45,000 + (and growing) employees served by PHRSSC.
 

Main Function:

Provincial HR Shared Service Representatives focus on administrative and technical support for human resources processes and data/record management. This position supports and models the customer service focus by responding to standard requests from internal and external clients or seamlessly relaying them to the appropriate site Human Resource department. The Provincial HR Shared Service Representative works with growing independence and in consultation with other human resource professionals to administer standardized HR processes in line with Shared Health policies and standards as well as applicable legislation and collective agreements. This position also participates in various project teams.

Experience

  • 2 years of functional HR experience in areas such as payroll, benefits administration, recruitment, compensation, occupational health and safety or human resources information systems.
  • 2 years customer service experience in a call centre or processing environment is considered an asset.
  • 1 year of experience working with an enterprise resource planning or human resources information system for processing administrative documentation is an asset (SAP or QHR is preferred).
  • 1 year of experience communicating with all levels within an organization and managing sensitive customer confidential information.
  • 1 year of experience with ticketing and case management solutions is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience interpreting and providing guidance on employment legislation, collective bargaining agreements and employer policies to staff is considered an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Completion of a high school diploma or high school equivalency from an accredited educational institution is required.
  • Post-secondary diploma and/or certificate in a relevant discipline such as business administration, human resources or payroll from an accredited post-secondary education institution is required.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is considered an asset.
  • The completion of specialized certificates or training courses in customer service, service centre management, human resources information management systems, and applicable Manitoba employment and/or payroll legislation are considered assets.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate.
  • Province of Manitoba class 5 driver’s license.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated staff level leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).
  • Working knowledge of applicable legislation pertaining to HR Functions (i.e., Payroll, OESH, Compensation, etc.).
  • Extremely organized with strong prioritization skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and changing demands while being responsive to end user needs.
  • Must be reliable and punctual, bring a positive attitude and enjoy being a problem-solver and helping others.
  • Resourceful and hold strong problem-solving capabilities, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, with strong interpersonal and collaborative work style and ability to develop effective working relationships with staff at all levels and demonstrate commitment to being a team player.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg.
  • Province of Manitoba class 5 driver’s license, and access to a personal vehicle, when required to support services in the province.
