Position Overview

The Manager of Support Services is responsible for the operations of the Dietary, Housekeeping, Laundry Services at the Churchill Health Centre. This includes the day to day operations of the assigned areas, as well as the budgetary responsibilities of the assigned cost centres. The Manager of Support Services is responsible for all supervision and HR related items in the above areas.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years working in a health care setting.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree and/or enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program with completion date.
  • A degree, diploma or certificate in a related area is an asset.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to facilitate staff working to the professional expectations of practice.
  • Knowledge of SAP practices around financial and human resources preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a health care facility related to the areas of dietary and housekeeping.
  • Must maintain the strictest confidence in dealing with highly sensitive information.
  • Ability to act with initiative, judgment, tact and diplomacy essential.
  • Working knowledge of legislative acts governing health care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and support system changes.
  • Must be innovative, highly motivated and an energetic team player.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required to effectively present complex, controversial or sensitive information to employees and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication skills are required to produce correspondence for a variety of audiences, including all levels of staff and leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working under pressure of deadlines and responding to competing priorities.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing and solving complex problems in a timely manner.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
