Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Operations/Physical Plant Manager, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks relating to the general cleaning and maintenance of production equipment and the physical plant. Assists tradespersons or other maintenance personnel in their job functions as required.
Experience
- Must have two years’ experience in assisting with trades-related maintenance work in institutional buildings or a manufacturing production environment.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Complete Grade 12 Education, Manitoba Standards.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current and valid Manitoba driver’s license required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to withstand short periods of strenuous activity.
- Heavy lifting may be involved.
- Must be able to work in high temperature areas.
- Entrance into confined spaces, and working on ladders or lift platforms is common.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., half face respirators, fall protection harnesses, work gloves, hearing protection and steel-toed safety shoes).
- Must be able to work overtime, on weekends, rotating shifts and be able to change shifts as required to complete maintenance tasks when necessary.
