Position Overview
The Lil’Cubs Centre Co-ordinator, is responsible for the day to day operations of the Children’s Centre including programming for children, supervision of the staff, collaboration with other leaders at the Churchill Health Centre. The Coordinator is also expected to ensure the daycare is in compliance with all provincial standards and policies.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a licensed daycare.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) 3 designation recognized in Manitoba and/or completed the 40-hour course requirements for working in a Children Centre plus other closely related experience to working with children, vulnerable populations.
- Additional relevant training/education a strong asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Valid driver’s license required and must have CPR and First Aide certificates.
Qualifications and Skills
- Successful completion of Criminal Record checks and Child Abuse Registry check and Investigation Authorization (1A) Form.
- Moderate to strong computer skills is an asset.
- Confidence working within Day care related applications, strong competence with Microsoft suite, and other websites or applications.
- Creative problem-solving skills, skilled at change management and the ability to nurture positive change with staff, children and parents.
- Exhibits an empathetic and professional approach to dealing with parents, staff and children in the Children’s Centre.
- Maintains the highest standard of confidentiality at all times.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
