Position Overview

The Children's Centre Co-coordinator, and under the supervision of the Director of Community Services & Planning is responsible for the day to day and overall operations of the Children's Centre in compliance with standards and policies.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a licensed daycare.
  • Experience in a unionized setting a definite asset.
  • Additional relevant training/education a definite asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • ECE III designation recognized in Manitoba and completed or willing to complete the 40-hour course requirements for working in a Children Centre.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Valid driver's license required and must have CPR and First Aide certificates.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Demonstrates competence in overall supervision of the daycare.
  • Exhibits an empathetic and professional approach to dealing with parents, staff and children in the Children's Centre.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of the Churchill RHA.
  • Maintains the highest standard of confidentiality at all times.
  • Represents the CRHA in a positive manner at all times.

Physical Requirements

  • Possible heavy lifting.
  • Possible eye strain.
  • Possible posture and muscle problems.
  • Possible contact with children with aggressive behaviour.
  • Other demands as it pertains to position.

 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

 

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services. Effective April 1, 2024, Golden West Centennial Lodge will also be part of the WRHA legal entity.
