Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Manager of Finance and Operations, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical support to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations within the Churchill Health Centre. The incumbent will process and monitor incoming payments and secure revenue by verifying and posting receipts, perform general accounting tasks and provide secretarial duties as required.

Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in accounting.
  • An acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience with computerized financial applications such as Ormed Presto Financial applications, SAP, MS Office applications, especially MS Excel.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Post-secondary education/training in Accounting.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability in public relations, proficiency in communicating orally and in writing, with groups and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to both independently and as a team member make recommendations and/or decisions in a complex interdisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to work in an autonomous, independent environment.

This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
