Position Overview
Reporting to the Regional Director, Pharmacy, the Clinical Resource Pharmacist collaborates with the Regional and Sites Pharmacy Managers to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of person-centered pharmaceutical care services. This role involves ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications, optimizing patient outcomes, and supporting the professional development of hospital pharmacy staff.
The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience of recent clinical experience in direct patient care.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) OR Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from a recognized University.
- Completion of a Hospital Pharmacy Residency is an asset.
- Advanced clinical training (e.g. pharmacotherapy certification, post graduate fellowship training, etc.) is considered an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Current practicing membership or eligibility for registration and membership with the College of Pharmacist of Manitoba (CPhM).
- Membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacy (CSHP) is an asset.

- Demonstrated ability of good interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously with others.
- Demonstrates the ability to initiate and support change while exercising professional judgment and showing initiative.
- Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands, adapt quickly to changing situations, maintain concentration with frequent interruptions and function in a demanding and stressful environment.
- Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate the medical literature and apply relevant knowledge to practice.
- Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required.
- Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums.
- Good work and attendance record.
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.
Physical Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
- No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
- May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.
