Position Overview

In conjunction with the Program Director, carries out the administrative functions of planning; organization; leadership; coordination and evaluation of patient care services; human resources management; fiscal management; information and environment control in assigned Program. Ensures that optimal patient care is provided in accordance with the mission statement, philosophy and objectives of the Program and the Hospital and with all professional standards of patient care.  Develops, implements and evaluates Program policies and procedures. Utilizes clinical knowledge, management and leadership skills. Replaces the Program Director during absences.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years recent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience, preferably in a health care environment.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline required, eg. Nursing, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy.
  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • Advanced clinical education preparation specific to the Program.
  • Recognized management course.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Current BCLS.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an interdisciplinary collaborative environment that supports quality patient care, quality improvement and staff autonomy.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
