Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Fitness Program Supervisor, the Relaxation Centre Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the Relaxation Centre. Acts as a liaison between the Relaxation Centre Programs, Staff Wellness Programs, Spiritual Care Programs and Volunteer Services. Interviews, supervises and evaluates volunteers and makes recommendations for program improvements. Administers the fee for service Massage Therapy program, and together with the Fitness Program Supervisor, recruits Registered Massage Therapists.
Experience
- Experience working or volunteering in a related field and/or knowledge of complementary therapies such as Therapeutic Touch, Massage Therapy and/or Reiki required.
- Knowledge of data collection and analysis preferred.
- Previous experience providing leadership to volunteers preferred.
- Interviewing skills and public speaking experience are considered an asset.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Courses in Volunteer Management or related post-secondary education required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook (basic level) required.
- Knowledge of the Internet required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to work in a team environment required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple and shifting priorities.
- Must be able to function with limited guidance, supervision and monitoring.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to multitask, remain calm and possess a warm welcome at all times.
- Awareness of Risk Management in the Relaxation Centre.
