Position Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, Plant and Property Services or designate or assigned Tradesperson, the Utility Person performs and/or assists with preventative maintenance installation and repair of furnishings and other equipment and building systems.


  • Recent minimum 1 year work experience working with HVAC systems – performing daily checks, tests, water testing, changing filters, etc is required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12 required.
  • Powering Engineering - 5th Class certification required.

  • Must successfully complete the basic mechanical reasoning test (aptitude test).

Physical Requirements

  • Physical and mental health to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
