Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Human Resources and Occupational Health & Safety, and as a collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary team, the incumbent is responsible for:

  • Participating in biological hazard surveillance programs including: Assessing for and providing immunizations; providing and interpreting tuberculin skin tests; and conducting annual surveillance for the TB program and flu vaccine program (70%).
  • Participating in the Employee Documentation program (20%).
  • Conducting information sessions with respect to influenza vaccines as required (5%).

Experience

  • Minimum of one-year nursing experience required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Successful completion of an Occupational Health Nursing certificate program preferred.
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to provide information sessions to groups.
