Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Human Resources and Occupational Health & Safety, and as a collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary team, the incumbent is responsible for:
- Participating in biological hazard surveillance programs including: Assessing for and providing immunizations; providing and interpreting tuberculin skin tests; and conducting annual surveillance for the TB program and flu vaccine program (70%).
- Participating in the Employee Documentation program (20%).
- Conducting information sessions with respect to influenza vaccines as required (5%).
Experience
- Minimum of one-year nursing experience required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Successful completion of an Occupational Health Nursing certificate program preferred.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to provide information sessions to groups.
