Domestic Violence Support Worker

Summary of Job Description
NorWest Co-op Community Health requires one full-time Support Worker to provide linkages and support to women in abusive relationships. The Support Worker will facilitate awareness of legal & social resources, provide day-to-day support services where a gap exists, and function as part of a diverse team using a strength-focused, holistic approach with women in various cultural, social and economic backgrounds. Extensive knowledge of domestic violence required using non-judgmental approach.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.A. or Post-Secondary education preferred
- Strong communication and problem solving skills; ability to work effectively with community members and partner agencies.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Strong assessment skills required.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle on a daily basis.
- Child Abuse and Criminal Record Check required.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
