Position Overview

As a member of the Manitoba Renal Program Team, the Dialysis Electronic Technologist shall be directly responsible to the Dialysis Technology Supervisor and receives technical direction from the Technical Manager. The position is responsible for the technical aspects of patient care in the Dialysis program. The major responsibility is ensuring that all complex medical devices used within the program, and quality control of all technical aspects of different dialysis modalities, are maintained at a high degree of efficiency to ensure effective, safe dialysis of the patient; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Dialysis experience preferred.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade XII (Manitoba standards) including mathematics, chemistry and physics.
  • Graduation from a recognized two-year Electronic Engineering Technology Program required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license.
  • Must be a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or be eligible for certification with the Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM).

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good working knowledge of plumbing, hydraulics and electrical installations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Good physical and mental health and manual dexterity required.
