Position Overview

In collaboration with the Director and Manager of the Facility Management Department, coordinates the operation, maintenance, repair and replacement of facility systems and equipment at the Grace Hospital including all heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment systems.

Experience
  • Working knowledge of hospital and/or knowledge of facility systems operation and maintenance of a large facility/institution is required
  • Operating and maintaining the steam-generating boilers, HVAC systems, and auxiliary equipment efficiently and in accordance with the Provincial Labour Code, Operating Engineers, NFPA, and CSA Standards as required. 
  • Previous Supervisory experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Valid 2nd Class Province of Manitoba Power Engineering Certificate is required. 
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written), garner collaboration and work consultatively. 
  • Ability to function in a computerized environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision. 
  • Confidential in all hospital/patient/resident related matters. 

 

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
