Research Associate (CAPTAIN, Noona HSR Platform)

Temporary - Full-time (1.0 EFT)

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Health Services Research Platform Lead, the Research Associate is responsible for helping to plan, organize, and conduct research studies for the Health Services Research Platform and the Informatics Platform. The Research Associate works closely with Research Officers in the CancerCare Manitoba Research Institute and Finance and Human Resources at the University of Manitoba.




  • Graduate degree in health, social, or behavioural sciences or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum 5-years of research experience
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat applications
  • Experience developing research plans
  • Familiarity with administrative and clinical databases
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

To be determined on the interview process:

  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and able to follow detailed protocols with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills


  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Programming experience in SAS and/or R


  • Strong population health background
  • Ability to speak French

Salary: Non-Union (compensation based on qualifications)
