Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Research Platform Lead, the Program and Research Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of research studies for the AYA Research Platform at CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB). In addition to these research responsibilities, the incumbent will also assist the Program Leader, Patient & Family Support Services with the planning, development, delivery evaluation and program and financial reporting for the AYA multidisciplinary program.  

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A bachelor of science degree in health, social, or behavioural sciences or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum 2-year experience in /research and project or program coordination
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat applications and database creation
  • Previous experience working within a research environment
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience working with web-based communications such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Experience with using social media as a tool for the patient education and knowledge translation for research studies
  • Demonstrated ability in using computer software related to word processing (e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook) and spreadsheets
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to engage patient participants in the research project.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of groups, including marginalized groups is required
  • Demonstrated understanding of health equity and how it impacts patient care, experience and outcomes
  • Satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

 

Preferred:

  • Experience working with REDCAP
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Previous experience coordinating research studies
  • Experience managing study budgets
  • Familiarity with administrative and clinical databases
  • Ability to design and implement research surveys
  • Previous experience with patient/participant contact and consenting of research participants
  • Previous experience designing data capture tools (e.g. case report forms and/or data collection forms etc.)
  • Ability to conduct patient interviews and focus groups and related work

 

Asset:

  • Master’s degree in a health-related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methods of program evaluation
  • Ability to speak French
